Overview

Karaoke Eternal is a free, open source karaoke party system you run yourself. You point it at your own collection of karaoke files and it becomes a searchable library that everyone at the party can browse. Guests pick songs and join the queue from their own phones, while a browser player screen shows the lyrics and moves the party along automatically as each singer finishes.

It suits anyone who wants a proper karaoke setup without a subscription or a stack of discs: households and house parties, bars and clubs, community centres, weddings, offices and events teams. The host signs in as the administrator, adds their media folder and manages rooms and singers, while everyone else just opens a link. It ships with an empty library by design: you bring your own legally obtained karaoke files, in MP3 with a CDG sidecar, ZIP archives of those pairs, or MP4 video.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg delivers Karaoke Eternal fully built and reverse proxied, so the player screen and the phone interface answer the moment the instance finishes its first boot, with the live song queue working correctly because the proxy is already configured for websockets. The image is secure by default: it contains no database at all, so a unique session signing key, a unique administrator password and a unique room password are all created on each instance's first boot and written to a root only file, and the one time setup page is used and permanently closed during that same boot so nobody can reach your server and claim it first. The application never accepts a connection from outside the instance, self registration is closed until you open it, your media stays on your own server, the base is fully patched with unattended security upgrades enabled, and every deployment is paired with a step by step deploy guide, backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses
