Secure by Default - No Shared Credentials

A stock Seal Report installation ships with an anonymous login script, a hardcoded backdoor account, and demo logins. This image removes all of them. The security script is replaced with one that only authenticates real logins. A unique administrator password is generated on each instance's first boot and hashed into the configuration before the public endpoint is exposed. The report server is bound to the local loopback interface behind a reverse proxy, so there is never a window in which an unauthenticated instance faces the network. No two deployments share a credential.

Hardened Runtime

The web report server runs as a dedicated unprivileged system user under systemd with automatic restarts, clean logging, and a sandboxed service unit on the native .NET runtime. The base image is fully patched with unattended security upgrades enabled. An unauthenticated health endpoint is provided for load balancer probes so monitoring needs no credential.
